We’ve had a busy few weeks touring with one of our latest campaigns; the launch of a brand new UK-wide road show for Pilot Pens, highlighting the unique benefits of the FriXion range of erasable pens.

The Write, Erase, Repeat Tour started on the 8 June in London and has travelled too many miles to count since, with the next stop on 1 July at Brighton’s Churchill Square.

Our Circle-trained brand ambassadors have been engaging consumers across the country, getting them to try their choice of eight different colours and four styles from the range. Visitors to the stand have been encouraged to ‘doodle’ on large writing tables covered with paper, instantly recognising the benefits of the unique erasable pen for themselves (and creating some interesting ‘art’ along the way!).

Following personal product demonstrations, we’ve been giving away free product samples and a coupon valid at WH Smith, Ryman Stationery, Paperchase, Staples or independent retailers, which offers 50% off a triple pack of FriXion pens.

So far, the campaign has been hugely successful with 11 locations visited and 20,900 FriXion Pens sampled to date.  Our average dwell time on stand has been 2.5 minutes- indicating just how much people love FriXion pens.

Our next tour stops are below, keep an eye out for the FriXion team and come and check out our doodles!

  • Brighton Churchill Square, 1 July
  • Danson Festival the weekend of the 7 and 8July
  • Highcross Leicester, 14 July
  • Westfield Derby, 15 July

We devised The Dugout – or ‘Duggie’ as it’s now affectionately known in the Circle office – last September. Featuring two dugout-style seats (you know, the ones that the manager sits in), four gaming stations and a 60 inch tournament screen.  The mobile roadshow vehicle was created primarily to tour football clubs, giving footie fans the chance to experience EA SPORTS™ FIFA 12, and score some (albeit virtual!) pre-match goals for their team.

Visitors can choose their console: PS3, Xbox 360, PSVita or iPad, and game one on one, but the real jewel in the Dugout’s crown is the huge tournament screen that allows us to recreate matches and pitch friend against friend (or enemies!) to be in with the chance of winning some awesome EA SPORTS™ branded prizes.  It’s the place to be before any match and the palpable tension between teams pre-match is just as exciting onboard, as it is on the pitch.

Designed to be easy to deploy, space efficient and adaptable, the Dugout is quickly becoming a favourite with our fans, but also with the crew that deploys it day in and day out.   Easy to change branding has also allowed us to activate on behalf of other EA SPORTS titles, such as EA SPORTS™ Tiger Woods PGA Tour® 13, SSX Snowboarding, FIFA Street and Grand Slam Tennis 2™.

Our most recent leg of the tour saw us introduce fans to the new UEFA EURO 2012™ expansion pack for FIFA 12.  The tour saw us partner with Coke Zero to tour across city centres including Sheffield, Birmingham, Bristol, Coventry, Derby, Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham, Portsmouth and London.  Our team of confident brand ambassadors travelled up and down the country speaking with football fans, encouraging trial, and of course purchase, by capitalising on the buzz of the Championships.

The Dugout has proven an instant hit since it was launched at GAMEFEST last September.  This hardworking campaign has since completed an immense 119 separate events over 127 days.  We have visited over 70 football matches and 15 different city centres, as well as a host of Universities, golf events, training grounds and grass roots sports events completing a total of 34,280 1-2-1 demonstrations.

‘Duggie’ is having a well-deserved rest at the moment but will be back in August. Keep checking back here for its latest movements – and don’t miss out on your chance to experience THE DUGOUT!

The EA SPORTS™ Dugout has just landed back from the BMW PGA Golf Championship at Wentworth, where the crowds were given an opportunity to show off their golfing prowess with EA’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour on Xbox Kinect.

As well as the four gaming stations and our 60 inch tournament screen in The Dugout we also installed gaming pods in the Player’s Lounge, The VIP Lounge and the Caddy’s Lounge.   After all, even world class players need to practice! And we spotted a fair few famous faces giving it their best shot.

Back in the public arena our team of Circle-trained brand ambassadors were busy engaging people and families across all ages, encouraging them to have a go and take part in our longest drive competition where one lucky winner a day got to take the game home.

Across five live days we gave 2,414 1-2-1 demonstrations across all areas, 345 tournament entries, and witnessed some pretty impressive golfing skills!

On Thursday 3rd May 2012 a team of us headed up to Manchester City FC Etihad Stadium for an evening of glitz, glamour and a whole host of football talent to boot (excuse the pun).

As you may be aware, Circle have been working this season on the launch of a very exciting project, EA SPORTS™ first Experiential Pop Up Installation at Manchester City FC’s Ethiad stadium.  As part of the overall activation surrounding the two brands exciting new partnership, Circle created the EA SPORTS™ Blue Zone, as well as a permanent gaming area within the stadium’s family stand.

We were thrilled to have been invited to spend the evening at the MCFC Player Awards. The ceremony celebrates the players’ hard work over the season, including the presentation of the EA™ Sports Player Performance Index Award.

As a year round campaign, The Blue Zone requires a team of extremely hard working brand communicators to ensure its success and general smooth running.  Our team of 6 core Blue Zone staff were all invited to attend the awards as EA™ and Man City’s guests.   A well deserved trip after all of their hard work, it may come as no surprise that a number of other football fans from the Circle office also jumped at the chance to come along.

We were certainly glad that we did!  We were treated with the blue carpet treatment you would expect from the Premiership champions, including drinks with the players and even a cheeky photo with Mancini himself.

Our Talent Manager Kath had the privilege of presenting the EA SPORTS™ Pro Player Award to gifted midfielder David ‘Merlin’ Silva who was obviously thrilled, but admitted his brother is a lot better at playing FIFA 12 than he was!

To hear what David had to say on meeting Kath, watch his interview here (he actually says nothing about Kath, in fact we’re not even sure he understood her Welsh accent), but enjoy it anyway!

Following the awards, Claire (perhaps having had a glass of champagne- shocker) managed to put in a winning bid at the chairty auction that will see Man City’s Executive Chef, cater Circle’s Summer BBQ.   All funds going to the Shoot for the Moon Partnership, which is an exciting fundraising partnership between Manchester City and Sport Relief helping young people reach their goals.

A big thanks to our clients EA SPORTS™ and Man City FC for a brilliant night.
